Guest post by TechSmith Events Committee member Rhonda Herron.
Did you know that Lansing has a minor league baseball team? I certainly didn’t! I had the privilege of going to my very first Lansing Lugnuts game last Thursday and let me tell you, it was fantastic! The Cooley Law Stadium is big enough to provide a big league feel, while small enough to really see the action on the field. I had feared we would be rained out, but it ended up being a perfect summer evening for a baseball game and hot dogs. Having a night at the ball game with my family and co-workers was just another in a long line of great things I love about TechSmith.
TechSmith, Small Company Feel
Even with over 250 employees, TechSmith strives to maintain a small company feel and encourage camaraderie and sense of team that is often lost in larger companies. This yearly Lugnuts game is just one of many events that TechSmith sponsors. Every month, The TechSmith Events Committee organizes events for their employees (and often includes their families) at places in and around the Lansing area. Since becoming a member of Team TechSmith in January, I have learned about many things around the capital city- it’s so much more than just Michigan State University! The monthly outings and many other TechSmith sponsored activities are great not only for TechSmith employees, but they’re also a great way for us to support local businesses and check out events we may have never stumbled upon. Take a look at Lansing.org, I think you too will be surprised at the wide range of things to see and do. There is truly something for everyone.

Fun facts about Rhonda Herron, Project Manager at TechSmith:
Rhonda has a weird obsession with both sharks and B-movies. When the two are combined, she can actually be rendered speechless with delight. She also claims to have a problem with spatial awareness, as any door way, wall, or random floor lamp around TechSmith can attest. She is genetically predisposed to an extreme dislike of cilantro
