TechSmith has never been an organization to shy away from innovation and being on the cutting edge. Sometimes this is a blessing, because it gives our customers access to amazing tools, features and opportunities. Other times, we’re just too early to market and we’ve solved problems that haven’t been recognized as problems yet. At the end of the day, we keep pushing forward, because we want to make amazing products that help you communicate and educate in better ways, especially visually.

With that TechSmith is happy to continue our innovation and announce our newest pursuit.

We know there are lot of videos out there that, as hard as the creators try, just aren’t that interesting. And frankly, we know a lot of videos are… well … boring. They lack that spark and attention, especially when communicating with the younger generations. I grew up on MTV videos, and while that shifted viewing habits of many, the even newer generations have been Twitterfied, and has sunk deep into the bowels of YouTube.

So what can you do to grab the attention with your video? How can you increase the view duration? What about something that is going to level-up your coolness factor and help your brand (internal or external) gain more attention?

Easy. Welcome to the pre-release beta of the newest Camtasia feature, with some automatic goodness: Camtasia Rap-ify (For Windows and Mac).

Here’s how it works. Create your video as you normally would, adjusting sizes, adding callouts, clips – editing everything as you normally would. Click on the new effect option, Rap-ify – and after a short re-render process, your video will be updated with a new music style makeover – music, voiceover, and general look and feel all will be updated. rap-ify User Interface

One of the problems that we’re working hard to overcome is that we don’t want every video to look, feel, and sound the same. The team is working to incorporate mulitple styles, including Gangsta, Hip house, East Coast, West Coast,  and Nerdcore hip hop. Rap-ify will select and randomly generate your updated video from hundreds of royalty tracks that we’ve licensed. Ultimately, we hope that each video generated will be unique and a powerful example of using music and visuals to engage your audience.

While in the pre-release beta we’ve only releasing the Rap-ify style, we’re also working on Country-ify, Glam Rock-ify, and Ska-ify. We’re definitely open to musical requests, although each type comes with it’s own unique set of challenges. Need a waltz? Or a Polka version of your videos? How about 8-bit tunes? We’d love to know what music type is the one for you and your audience.
